Aspire Campus

Harris Academy Aspire offers an opportunity for 6th form students who for a variety of reason did not complete successfully  level 2 qualifications during their Key stage 4 education.

This is a unique opportunity to gain the qualifications which will enable students to move onto level 3 qualifications and hopefully Higher Education. Currently a re build is planned and should be finished by early September.

Students at Aspire follow a one year study programme which focuses on the core subjects of English language, Maths and Core Science – some students will also undertake English Literature and Additional Science. Students also complete one or two vocational qualifications dependent on future aspirations. The enrichment programme allows students to undertake sports activities, as well as the opportunity to go on many trips. Harris Federation places a great deal of importance on ensuring 6th formers are successful by using the subject consultants to deliver and oversee the course delivery.

Students at Aspire have individual careers guidance meetings which ensure students have detailed advice regarding their future progression at the end of the academic year. All students who meet the entry criteria for Harris 6th Form level 3 courses are guaranteed a place at one of our 9 sites.

Student Voice is very important at Harris Aspire. A head boy and girl are elected each year by the student body and they represent Harris Aspire at many events. They lead the student body and liaise with staff on important issue which may affect the education at Harris Aspire.

The year at Aspire is very intense and students are expected to work hard and be role models to the lower Academy students. Students are only at Aspire for a year of their education but staff realise how important that time is and strive to ensure all are very successful.
