Course Content
Students will sit the WJEC Art & Design – Textile Design A Level Course

Unit 1: Personal Creative Enquiry |
Unit 2: Personal Investigation

Unit 3: Externally Set Assignment |

Students will be tested against the following Assessment Criteria:-
A Short Course - Introduction to Textiles & Fashion Skills & Baseline Test. (6 Weeks) |

Assessment
In Year 12, work is continuously assessed and summative assessment is made at the end of projects and units. In Year 13, students will complete a Non-Exam Project which is 60% of their A Level grade, and an Externally Set Assignment which is 40% of their A Level grade.
Entry Requirements
Students require a grade 5 in English Language GCSE and Maths GCSE, and a grade 6 in Textile Design GCSE.
Career Progression
Skills developed on the course, such as research, contextual analysis, creative problem solving and teamwork can put students in direct competition with more traditional graduates giving them an even greater pool of opportunities to consider. For example Textile students can traditionally follow any career path onto degree level including Fashion, Illustration and Textiles, specialising in garment construction, weaving and knitting. The creative industry is the 2nd largest industry in Britain – and growing!
